Captain Joe moved to SW Florida from Savannah,Ga by way of the Florida Keys. He began boating at age 9 on Jaybird, a fishing boat he and his father built.
He has cruised the waters of the Everglades and 10,000 Islands for over 22 years. More recently he ran private dolphin/shell tours out of Ft Myers Beach since 2007.

Jaybird II survived Hurricane Ian in September 2022 but the devastation forced a relocation of the business. Captain Joe is very thankful to The Port of the Islands Marina in the heart of the 10.000 Islands for allowing him to bring his knowledge and love of the water to share with people from all over the world.

Joe and his wife and first mate Glenda have logged over 30,000 miles on their Trawler Phase IV, including several voyages to the Bahamas, Chesapeake Bay, Washington DC along with extended stays in the Florida Keys. His sense of humor along with love of the local waterways is sure to keep you entertained on your voyage aboard Jaybird II.
